Talk About Bad Timing...
An avid reader of Golf Digest magazine and an enthusiast of the sport, the cover and lead article of next month's specialized magazine would not have caused me to glance at it twice had it not been for certain events in the last couple of weeks regarding Tiger Woods. Before the world as we know almost came to an end when we found out that Woods is no different than, well, 90% of multimillionaire professional athletes, it would seem somewhat reasonable that Woods would have in fact "10 tips Obama can take from Tiger."
The timing of the whole thing, both of the magazine's article and of Woods' "indiscretions" is very ironic, but no more than tip number 10 written by a Joe Queenan: the danger of looking ridiculous. It reads in part: "Tiger doesn't appear on 'Dancing with the stars.' Tiger doesn't sing in public. Tiger doesn't appear in talk shows. Tiger never does anything that would make him look ridiculous." It goes on to basically say that Obama should try to behave the same way.
Funny how all of a sudden neither one of those things look so ridiculous after all...
